Fabio Capello insists Harry Kane is the ONLY player he would swap for Paulo Dybala if he was in charge at Juventus, as Italian champions prepare to sell star if he won’t agree a new £36m deal
- Paulo Dybala has struggled for form and played only 13 games this season
- Fabio Capello has blamed his poor run on contracting coronavirus this year
- But former England boss says he would only swap him for Harry Kane
Fabio Capello insists he would only swap Paulo Dybala for Harry Kane, despite the Juventus star’s misfiring form so far this season.
Dybala has struggled with injury and form this season, scoring just once in eight league appearances for the Serie A champions.
The Argentine has been overshadowed by Cristiano Ronaldo and Alvaro Morata in Turin this year, but the former England boss remains a keen supporter.
Fabio Capello has blamed coronavirus for Paulo Dybalas’ poor form so far this season
But he still insists that he would only swap the Argentine for Tottenham star Harry Kane
He told Gazzetta dello Sport: ‘I said I wouldn’t swap Dybala to get Pogba. If I could, I’d trade him with Tottenham’s English striker Harry Kane.’
And the Italian believes that Dybala’s poor form this season is down to contracting coronavirus back in April
‘Covid is the explanation’, he continued. ‘Especially for a player like Dybala, who needs to dribble [past] a man.
‘The impression is that he’s a bit unfinished. He captivates but leaves doubts. He certainly has superior qualities, he really has all you need.

‘He needs the physical conditions to return to his best. Paulo needs to be 100 per cent well, because if you are well physically, the head leads you to face the opponents, the team-mates, the coach and even the club.
‘Dybala can do everything on the pitch if he is well, even playing in a trident with Alvaro Morata and Cristiano Ronaldo.’
Capello’s comments come after it emerged that Juve are set to offer Dybala a new £9million-per-year contract until 2025, but the club will sell if he refuses to accept it.
Juventus’ Chief Football Officer Fabio Paratici is now waiting for Dybala’s agent, Jorge Antun, to fly out to Italy to begin talks over the contract.
According to Sky Sport Italia, the contract offer is the maximum amount that Paratici and Juventus are willing to invest in the forward, with Dybala already on a lucrative contract worth over £6.8m per year until June 2022.
