Fans still fuming that Prem star didn’t win Goal of the Month nine-years on

Pajtim Kasami, who scored what some consider to be the greatest goal in Premier League history, somehow wasn't even awarded Goal of the Month.

The Switzerland international fired a stunning volley on his weak foot past Crystal Palace icon Julian Speroni in a technique linked to Marco van Basten in October of 2013.

With Fulham going on to win the match 4-1, Kasami's goal was expected to sweep the awards – but Arsenal's team effort finished off by Jack Wilshere vs Norwich would pick up the goal of the month prize as well as BBC Goal of the Season.

Kasami controlled a long pass from Sascha Riether on his chest, looping a perfect volley over the keepers' head – even looking to shock himself.

One comment on the goal reads: "Best goal ever in the prem never mind goal of the month."

With another saying: "Didn't even win PL goal of the month but was nominated for the Puskas award."

A third agrees: "Best goal I've ever seen, so underrated."

With a fourth adding: "Greatest prem goal of all time."

Although things didn't go to plan with Fulham getting relegated that season, Kasami did have the honour of being nominated for the 2014 FIFA Puskas award – which is given to the "most beautiful" goal of season.

Since leaving Fulham in 2014, the former Liverpool youth prospect has spent time with Olympiacos, Nottingham Forest and Basel before joining his current side Olympiacos

The 30-year-old midfielder also made 12 appearances for Switzerland between 2013 and 2016, but is still best remembered for his Selhurst Park heroics.

"Of course, scoring a goal like the one that I did will stay with me forever," Kasami told Sky Sports in 2018.

"It was a just a pity that we went down because Fulham have not come back up since I left.

"It is a beautiful club too. I have great memories of my time there."
