Matildas’ striker Caitlin Foord scored for Arsenal as the Gunners maintained their perfect start to the English FA WPL season with a 3-1 weekend win over Bristol City.
Foord netted in the 60th minute, with first-placed team’s win at Meadow Park coming at the expense of her Matildas’ teammates and Bristol City pair Ella Mastrantonio and Chloe Logarzo.
“I’m proud of the players,” Arsenal’s Australian coach Joe Montemurro said.
“They kept their heads, kept their emotions and continued to do what was needed to be done to break down a very organised team.”
Another goal. Another assist.

“We wanted to maintain the high tempo in the second half and we did that.”
Arsenal and Everton are two points clear of Sam Kerr’s Chelsea side, who had a 1-0 away win over Birmingham City.
Kerr started the match on the bench, and came on in the 65tn minute as a replacement for Guro Reiten.

Kennedy’s Tottenham team were beaten 4-1 by Manchester City, while goalkeeper Arnold’s West Ham side lost 1-0 at home to Reading.
