Footage shows Kylian Mbappe being savagely snubbed by England players in tunnel

France superstar Kylian Mbappe appeared to get brutally snubbed by England players in the tunnel before the two nations faced off at the World Cup on Saturday night.

It was no surprise to see the cameras pick up the Paris Saint-Germain ace with much of the pre-match conversation surrounding how the forward would do against Kyle Walker. As it happened, Les Bleus would emerge victorious – though Walker did a decent job shackling Mbappe.

On occasion, the sheer pace of the 23-year-old left the Manchester City star – who is no slouch by any means – eating dust. However, it was not enough to prevent France from winning 2-1.

And while the two players engaged in a fascinating battle on the pitch, it appeared that there was no love lost before the match had even got underway when the two met in the tunnel.

Mbappe extended a hand to Walker, in front of Jordan Henderson, but neither England stars paid him any attention, blatantly ignoring him instead. The Frenchman was left hanging for just too long before he took his hand away and laughed off the moment.

Whether Walker even noticed Mbappe or was just blatantly ignoring his rival only he would know – but it was certainly quite awkward to watch. It was France that had the last laugh, though.

Harry Kane missed a late penalty that saw the world champions claim a 2-1 win over the Three Lions and set up a semi-final tie against Morocco. Mbappe's reaction would go viral after pictures showed the striker in fits of giggles.

Olivier Giroud ended up the goalscoring hero when he converted Antoine Griezmann's incredible cross, though many have taken shots at Harry Maguire for his defending. Meanwhile, Southgate has spoken out on his future.
