Football Manager has confirmed that Manchester United will be known as 'Manchester UFC' for FM22.
SEGA, the owner of the Football Manager series, and United have been locked in a trademark battle over the use of the club's name.
United claimed Football Manager infringed its trademark over the use of their logo by not using the official Manchester United badge in the game.
However, SEGA still maintains "that they do not need a licence to use the ‘Manchester United’ name."
But as a "gesture of goodwill" Football Manager has confirmed that the name change will start with their upcoming title, FM22.
Football Manager tweeted: "Manchester United and Sega have agreed a settlement to amicably resolve their trade mark dispute relating to Football Manager.
"Both parties are pleased to resolve this matter to their mutual satisfaction."
They continued: "From FM22 onwards, the Manchester United football club will be named ‘Manchester UFC’ or ‘Man UFC’. These name changes have been made purely to settle the dispute on a no admissions basis.
"SEGA and Sports Interactive maintain that they do not need a licence to use the ‘Manchester United’ name but have made the change as a gesture of goodwill so that both parties can move on."

FIFA suffered a similar scenario before the release of Fifa 20, in October 2019.
Juventus struck an exclusive deal with Konami, the manufacturers of FIFA's rival PES, giving the Japanese brand exclusive rights to their name rights.
This meant EA were unable to use the name Juventus in their flagship brand.
For the last two instalments in the series, Juventus have been rebranded as 'Piemonte Calcio'.

Football Manager recently announced that they will be introducing women's football to the game, a first for the series.
However, that feature will not be included in FM22, and Miles Jacobson, Sports Interactive’s studio director, said it will be a 'multi-year project'.
