Newcastle United are widely expected to emerge as one of the Premier League’s major players in future transfer windows. The Magpies are set to be heavily backed by their new Saudi-led ownership group after the completion of their recent big-money takeover.
The Public Investment Fund, which represents the sovereign wealth fund of Saudi Arabia, now owns an 80 per cent stake in the club after the long-awaited departure of Mike Ashley earlier this month.
Newcastle’s newly-found riches have already seen them linked with a host of top players ahead of the January transfer window.
However, it seems as though it could be a struggle to raid other Premier League clubs, with many sides in the division poised to refuse any talks with the Magpies.
According to the Daily Mail, Newcastle are worried over the possibility of their domestic rivals ganging up on them in the mid-season market.
With that in mind, Express Sport takes a look at four players from abroad who could be snapped up by Newcastle when the window opens up again next year.

Diaz has established himself as one of Porto’s finest operators in recent years, earning links to a number of Europe’s biggest clubs in the process.
The 24-year-old has also excelled at international level with Colombia, finishing his Copa America campaign over the summer as the joint-top scorer with four goals at the tournament.
Newcastle are understood to be keen admirers of Diaz and would be prepared to meet his £68million release clause in January, according to reports in Portugal.
If the winger is able to replicate his prolific form on Tyneside, he could prove to be the cornerstone of the club’s new era as they go in search of domestic and European success over the next few years.
Shaktar Donetsk winger Solomon is not exactly a household name in England, but has been making plenty of waves during his time in Ukraine.
He scored 11 goals from 35 appearances last season and was linked with Arsenal and Aston Villa over the summer.
Newcastle are the latest club to have joined Solomon’s growing list of suitors and could make a move for his services in January, according to Israeli publication Walla.
He could prove to be the perfect acquisition for the Magpies due to his ability to play on either wing, which could help to alleviate their reliance on Allan Saint-Maximin to make things happen out wide.

Ramsey has long been linked with a return to the Premier League since leaving Arsenal to join Juventus in the summer of 2019.
However, Newcastle might be the only club with a realistic chance of bringing him back to England in January.
The Welshman, who reportedly takes home around £400,000 per week at present, remains under contract in Turin until 2023 but has struggled to make a lasting impact at Juventus.
Newcastle would be unlikely to have any trouble in meeting Ramsey’s wage demands and could do with a similarly experienced operator in the middle of the park to aid their ongoing bid for Premier League survival.

Newcastle have also been tipped to launch a January bid for ex-Liverpool star Coutinho, who has failed to make any sort of impact during his time with Barcelona.
The Catalan giants would reportedly be willing to sell the Brazilian playmaker for around £42m, which is a fee that Newcastle would be prepared to pay, according to Spanish outlet Sport.
Coutinho established himself as one of the Premier League’s most exciting players with Liverpool and could well be tempted by the opportunity to return to England.
With Barcelona’s finances causing plenty of problems at the Nou Camp and Newcastle able to benefit from an injection of creativity in the middle of the park, a winter move could be the ideal solution to suit all parties.
