France’s Jules Kounde taunts heartbroken England after shutting down key duo
Jules Kounde has taunted England after admitting France shut down the threat of Jude Bellingham and Phil Foden in their World Cup quarter final triumph.
The reigning champions ruined England's World Cup dream with a 2-1 win in Doha on Saturday. Didier Deschamps' men will now take on Morocco in the last four, while Gareth Southgate and his dejected Three Lions have headed home.
And Kounde has revealed how France watched videos of the threat England posed on the left hand side, in a bid to keep the likes of Bellingham and Foden quiet. The Barcelona defender said: "I think it was a collective effort.

"We defended better, closed the passing lines and we made our job a bit easier.
"We watched the videos a lot and analyse them a lot. Their left side was their strongest side and we managed to adapt to that. I played my game and tried to leave the least spaces possible – and I thought we coped really well."
Kounde admits Kylian Mbappe is straining at the leash when in comes to facing Morocco and getting back on the goal trail, having drawn a blank against England. Mbappe is currently leading the race for the Golden Boot with five goals, but found himself shackled in the win over the Three Lions.

Kounde added: "Kylian is hungry – and that is what is driving the team. I have not discussed with him personally his performance against England.
"I do not think he is unhappy, but he likes to be in the statistics for scoring goals. He was intelligent in his choices, we knew what to expect and they blocked him a bit on the wing, but he was able to switch sides where we moved the ball around a lot and he was happy with the performance."
