Frank Lampard has confirmed N’Golo Kante will miss Chelsea’s FA Cup semi-final clash with Manchester United this weekend.
The France international has not appeared for the Blues since coming off in the 78th minute of their Premier League victory over Watford at the beginning of the month.
Lampard had previously raised hopes that the midfielder could play a role in the last-four clash, having said Kante ‘had a chance’ of making it when speaking ahead of their victory over Norwich.

However, hopes of him making it have now been dashed.
‘The squad is okay but N’Golo Kante won’t be fit for the match,’ he told reporters on Friday. ‘Other than that we have a few niggles.’
Chelsea are going toe-to-toe with United in the league as well as the cup, with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s men breathing down the necks of those at Stamford Bridge in a bid to secure a Champions League spot.

United are in imperious form since returning from the break caused by the coronavirus outbreak, and have yet to lose in any competition.
And Lampard is aware just how much of a threat they pose going into Sunday’s game.
‘We know they are playing well,’ said the Blues boss.
‘They have the most potent front three in pure numbers. Of course, Bruno [Fernandes] is a huge threat.’
