Galatasaray fans celebrated in Man Utd home end during Champions League triumph

Galatasaray fans were seen celebrating throughout the home section of Old Trafford during and after their famous Champions League victory over Manchester United.

The Turkish champions won 3-2 thanks to Wilfried Zaha, Muhammed Kerem Akturkoglu and Mauro Icardi despite Rasmus Hojlund's brace – and could even afford to miss a penalty as United lost for the second time in two European outings.

It became apparent during the fixture that it wasn't only fans of the Red Devils in the home section with things becoming even clearer at full-time – as jubilant supporters staying behind to cheer their heroes before they fly back across Europe.

Posting a snap of the fans on social media, Football Away Days said: "Galatasaray fans dotted about in the home sections of the stadium celebrating their famous win at Old Trafford this evening. Crazy how many of their fans were in the wrong section of the stadium."

A United fan added: "It’s unforgivable absolutely stunned and disgusted and angered."

A second agreed: "Sacking Erik ten Hag won’t change a thing. The club is rotten from the top to bottom."

The result leaves United bottom of Champions League Group A as the only one of the four clubs on zero points.

Copenhagen have one with Bayern Munich on six and Icardi's winning goal taking Galatasaray to four after an opening draw.

United have now lost six of their 10 games so far this season after winning the Carabao Cup and finishing third in the table last time out.

The impressive performance of Hojlund was undone by individual errors, with Diogo Dalot failing to deal with Zaha for the opening goal and Andre Onana at fault for the third after his poor pass led to Casemiro's sending off.

Ten Hag said on TNT Sports: "The mental errors we make, you cannot allow them at this level. You get punished.
