Former Tottenham winger Gareth Bale has responded to Aaron Ramsey’s dig at the club over the signing of Brennan Johnson this summer.
This comes as the former Arsenal midfielder admitted that he ‘wished’ Johnson didn’t choose the move to Spurs this summer.
‘I wish it weren’t to Tottenham!’ he said. ‘The potential he has is quite scary and hopefully he can take those next steps and go to the next level.’
Bale responded to this when asked if Johnson had chosen to join the right club this summer.
He replied: ‘For sure. Better than Arsenal!’

The Tottenham legend then continued to heap praise on Johnson as he believes the ‘sky is the limit’ for the winger, both for his international side and for Tottenham.
‘Like you said, the skies are the limit,’ Bale continued.
‘As long as he’s playing football, improving and doing well, it’s good for Tottenham and good for Wales.’
Bale announced his retirement at the beginning of the year, hanging up his boots at the age of 33.
He lifted the MLS Cup with LAFC before opting to retire from football and has been enjoying his time off, spending hours on the golf course.
Tottenham have started the season well and Ange Postecoglou will be keen to keep their form going with Johnson in the side this season as he prepares to bed him into his Spurs team.
