Gary Neville and Jamie Carragher blast ‘stupid’ Bissouma in Tottenham draw
Guardiola praises Postecoglou ahead of Man City v Tottenham
Sky Sports commentators Gary Neville and Jamie Carragher were not impressed with Tottenham star Yves Bissouma for his role in Manchester City’s third goal against Spurs on Sunday. The midfielder dwindled on the ball before losing possession, allowing Erling Haaland to cross for Jack Grealish to score and prompt jubilant scenes inside the Etihad.
With 10 minutes remaining and the score tied at 2-2 with the visitors heading towards a well-earned point, Bissouma brought the ball down out of the air and attempted to play his way out of the City press.
However, he was quickly robbed by Rodri who laid the ball out wide for Haaland and the Norwegian striker pulled a cross back for Grealish to arrive into the box and finish past Guglielmo Vicario.
Neville openly asked what Bissouma was thinking for the goal. “What are Spurs doing? They have created their own problems,” he said on commentary. “What is he [Bissouma] doing? The game of madness, Grealish does what Haaland couldn’t in the first half, as he sweeps the ball into a pretty open net.”

Carragher added: “He needed that, Jack Grealish, he doesn’t score enough goals. That is just absolutely stupid from Bissouma. I certainly don’t think Ange Posteocoglou will think it’s okay either.”
Bissouma did have his blushes spared late on, however, as the visitors tied the game once again when Dejan Kulusevski rose highest at the back post to head home Brennan Johnson’s cross in the 90th minute.

Late drama also prevented City from scoring a fourth goal that surely would have sealed all three points, when referee Simon Hooper played advantage for a foul on Haaland but then pulled it back despite Grealish being in on goal.
City players surrounded the official and were flabbergasted at the decision that was made, with Spurs getting another reprieve after Bissouma’s mistake led to a goal on a day when suspect defending was on offer.
The hosts will also rue some poor defensive errors that allowed Spurs to score twice before Bissouma’s mistake, which led to him being chastised by Neville and Carragher.
