Gary Neville has been mocked on social media after comparing Spurs striker Harry Kane to….. Zinedine Zidane.
The Tottenham hitman is still banging in the goals for Jose Mourinho's side this season but has also added assists to his game while operating in a deeper role.
Kane's performance against Manchester City this evening earned him the surprising comparison from Neville on Sky Sports commentary.
But the Manchester United legend was mocked, as he expected, for making the comment live on air.
"Laporte got taken by Kane again. Kane is playing brilliantly in that role," Neville said to commentator Martin Tyler.
"I will get mocked for saying it, but there is a little bit of Zidane in him when he gets the ball in that position and the way he shields the ball.
"The physicality and touch to protect the ball… l could never get near him."
But as he expected, Neville was roundly ridiculed on social media.
"Just spat my drink out @GNev2 just said theres a bit of Zidane in Harry Kane," one fan tweeted.
"2020 has hit rock bottom! @GNev2 comparing Harry Kane to Zidane!" said one.
"Gary Neville comparing Kane with Zidane. Has he been on the wine gums?" another added.
"When Gary Neville compared Kane to Zidane I think he was talking about Albert Zidane from Tooting…" a fourth joked.

"Gary Neville comparing Kane to Zidane has got to be the worst hit of punditry I've ever heard," said another.
Kane grabbed an assist for his side in the second-half, setting up substitute Giovani Lo Celso for Spurs' second goal.
Heung-Min Son grabbed the first for Mourinho's men in the first-half, calmly slotting beyond Ederson after a ball over the top by Tanguy Ndombele.
