Germany World Cup winner Mario Gotze advised to join Everton or West Ham

World Cup winner Mario Gotze has been advised to seek a summer move to Everton or West Ham in an effort to revive his career.

Compatriot Michael Rummenigge, who also won titles at Bayern Munich, admits he struggles to pinpoint just how Gotze went from a future world star to a player who will almost certainly fail to fulfill his potential.

The German flourished as a youngster at Borussia Dortmund before switching to rivals Bayern Munich.

After three years he returned to Dortmund but has been hampered by fitness issues and a lack of form.

He could well be set for pastures new this summer and has been told to consider a Premier League outfit.

Rummenigge said in Sportbuzzer: "I'm thinking [he could join] clubs like Everton or West Ham or some Italian middle-of-the-table club.

"In the Bundesliga, he could fit with Borussia Monchengladbach or Leverkusen. I hope that he shakes off the pressure and finds his way although, right now, I have my doubts."

Gotze's career peaked when he came off the bench to score the winner in the World Cup final six years ago.

The clip of him notching at the Maracana will stand the test of time in his homeland with Rummenigge claiming a change of position may see the 27-year-old rediscover the form of old.
