Manchester City’s injury crisis is at risk of developing after Sergio Aguero suffered a fresh hamstring issue in the 1-1 draw at West Ham.
The Argentine was replaced by Phil Foden at half-time and is due to undergo a scan on Sunday.
Pep Guardiola was limited on the details of the problem following the match, but it will be a worrying situation so soon after the striker’s return from a three-month absence with a knee injury.

In the absence of Gabriel Jesus, who is also injured, Aguero has been forced to start three games in a week upon his comeback as City juggle domestic and European commitments. Guardiola would only say: ‘It was a muscle. A hamstring I think and tomorrow I know more.’
With the draw at the London Stadium, Guardiola has failed to reach double figures for points from five games for the first time in 11 years.
They have lost significant ground in the Premier League already, with Guardiola previously pointing to the fatigue caused by a relentless schedule on the back of a condensed pre-season.
In reiterating that concern, Guardiola said: ‘The reality is we are struggling with one or two weeks without preparation. We had four or five guys with Covid and we need time and not enough regeneration with the players. This is the reason why.
‘To play in four competitions every three days you need all the squad and if you don’t, it is more difficult.
‘We normally have lots of players fit in recent years but this year because of Covid we finished later, we started later and players need a break.

‘This is not the reason why but I put on the table the situation. We have to continue.’
He added: ‘I would prefer to have the results but also we have to analyse the situation that we are in.
‘We struggle for many injuries, for the lack of preparation and all recovery time between the games. We have had some incredibly tough games so far but the players are giving everything on the pitch.’
