Harry Kane ‘to make staggering U-turn on Tottenham future’ due to Antonio Conte

Harry Kane could now be poised to stay at Tottenham long-term as he believes the arrival of Antonio Conte will bring the silverware he desires.

After trying to secure a move to Manchester City in the summer and failing, it seemed Kane, 28, was biding his time until he could leave Spurs in 2022.

But the England captain has pulled a U-turn on those plans following the move to sack Nuno Espirito Santo and replace him with former Chelsea boss Conte.

Kane believes the Italian manager can change the side's fortunes and make them genuine contenders for trophies, as per The Sun.

In fact, their report claims the whole of the Tottenham squad are delighted with the coup appointment.

Conte arrives in north London with a decorated CV that features a Premier League title, an FA Cup and four Serie A successes.

And with a bumper transfer budget to attack the January transfer window with, there's hope amongst everyone involved at Spurs that they can finally secure a first trophy since 2008.

That lack of success was the main motivation for Kane wanting to leave.

He believed he had a verbal agreement to do so with chairman Daniel Levy, but the bids from reigning English champions City weren't valued as suitable.

Although Kane was forced to accept he would be staying, he remained hopeful that he could secure a move come the end of the season when his contract would have just two years left on it.
