Harry Maguire may not get his reported wish of an English-speaking defensive partner at Manchester United.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer appears keen to strengthen his back-line this summer and is looking for a new partner for Maguire.
Victor Lindelof and Eric Bailly have both been used alongside the England star, though United have often looked shaky at the back.
Reports from talkSPORT have suggested that Maguire is keen to have a partner that speaks English, though the names linked with a move to Old Trafford would be against those wishes.
Jules Kounde and Pau Torres are among the believed top targets, rather than Premier League or English defenders.
Though talkSPORT does link United with a potential move for Brighton ace Ben White this summer.
Villareal star Torres could be available for less than his £56m release clause this summer should the La Liga side fail to qualify for Europe.
Real Madrid star Rafael Varane has also been heavily linked with a move to Old Trafford, alongside Sevilla ace Kounde.
United had been linked with a move for a defender last summer, though Solskjaer said: “For me, we’ve got enough good centre-backs here at the moment.
“When you concede chances and concede goals, there are two different things you can look at – it’s either the team shape, or are there any individual mistakes,’ the Norwegian added.
“We’re not in our best shape of form, our shape isn’t there, we’re not sharp enough to stop crosses or follow the runs.”
