He referred to his rivals as ‘marrento’s’ in Portuguese, which translates to ‘cocky’ or arrogant.’

Andreas Pereira says Virgil van Dijk and James Milner are the most cocky players he has faced

When asked who was the most arrogant footballer he had come up against, he replied: ‘I don’t really like that guy, Milner.

‘And to tell you the truth, I don’t like that guy, the defender, Van Dijk. [He is] Marrento, man. Even the way he plays is kind of arrogant.’

He says that the Liverpool defender is cocky both on and off the pitch, stating ‘I don’t like him’

The 24-year-old Brazilian also claims to dislike Liverpool’s Milner as well as their star defender

Richarlison, who previously interviewed for the same YouTube channel, agreed with Pereira.

Richarlison even went as far as slamming the Van Dijk’s ability, saying: ‘People talk a lot about him, yes he is a great defender but I’ve already dribbled past him.

‘He was chosen as one of the top three in the world as he had an excellent season. But yes, for me there are better defenders.’

Pereira did, however, say that fellow countryman David Luiz was one of the nicest players

Pereira did, however, name his fellow countrymen David Luiz and Willian as his favourite opponents.

‘David Luiz and Willian are the most “good” guys,’ he said to Desimpedidos. He even went as far as to say that they are able to chat before stepping onto the pitch.

The United midfielder also named Thiago Silva, Marquinhos and Sergio Ramos as his top rated players.
