Manchester City legend Sergio Aguero celebrated his 34th birthday in a £12million waterfront mansion he bought in Miami after retiring from professional football last year.
The dad-of-one posted footage of his lavish birthday bash on social media earlier this week, showing entertainment provided by fire-eaters as well as a mariachi band and Brazilian samba dancers. Girlfriend Sofia Calzetti joined him to mark his special day alongside family and friends.
Now it has been reported Aguero, pictured on Thursday playing football in Miami for the first time since his decision to quit as a professional last December because of heart problems, has purchased the magnificent property where he took centre-stage for his birthday do.
Argentinian press say the nine-bed, 13 bathroom mansion in Hollywood, between Miami and Ft Lauderdale, boasts two wine cellars, a spa, a fitness room, small cinema, a tennis court and an enormous swimming pool.
US real estate news portal The Real Deal, citing property records, says a company called Slak Casa Miami “led by Aguero” purchased the property after it was put on the market in January for just over £13million. It reported earlier this week New York-based JP Morgan Chase provided a £8million loan to the company so it could make the purchase and “double the previous single-family record price set in the city.”
The 12,485 square-foot house sits on nearly 1.2 acres on the Intracoastal Waterway, a 3,000 mile inland waterway along the Atlantic and Gulf of Mexico coasts of the United States. The property has its own dock on North Lake which opens into the inland waterway and is popular with water-skiers and sailors.

Aguero, who had just signed for Barcelona after a record-breaking decade at Man City when doctors discovered he had an irregular heartbeat, posted drone-taken images of the magnificent mansion as well as footage of what it looks like inside on his birthday video.
He dressed in a smart shirt, jeans and trainers while his partner looked stunning in a white dress and lace-up heels, with the pair showing off their dance moves alongside their guests before the striker blew out the candles on a huge birthday cake. The retired footballer is believed to have spent most of the last few months in Florida following a Christmas break in Argentina and a New Year holiday in Uruguay.
News of the mansion purchase comes after footage emerged of Aguero enjoying a five-a-side kick-about in Miami in a Barcelona strip.
It was the first time he had been seen playing soccer since he announced his retirement in an emotional ceremony in the Catalan capital last December. Aguero played just five games for Barcelona following his transfer from Man City before he had to call time on his glittering career.
Aguero’s cardiologist Robert Peidro said after the dad-of-one’s retirement announcement he would be able to lead a “normal life” despite being left with a tiny scar near his heart following his cardiac ablation.
The procedure involves the insertion of a small flexible tube called a catheter which is guided into a patient’s heart through a blood vessel by experts using live X-ray images so heat or cold can be used to eliminate the irregular heartbeat.
The microchip implant enables doctors to measure how well a patient’s heart is functioning by alerting them remotely to any decline in their condition.
Aguero’s diagnosis was made in the days after he was taken to hospital clutching his chest and complaining of breathing problems and dizziness during a game against Alaves at the end of last October.
He signed for Barcelona after becoming the club’s record goalscorer during his decade at the Citizens, thinking he was going to join up with friend and fellow Argentinian Lionel Messi before the seven-time Ballon d’Or winner’s shock transfer to Paris Saint-Germain.
