Jack Grealish's England exile is over after Gareth Southgate called him into the fold for the Nations League clashes with Iceland and Denmark.
The continual omission of Aston Villa's 24-year-old star has been the topic of debate far wider than just the boundaries of the Second City.
But Southgate's decision to draft in the midfielder certainly nails the theory that he had personal issues with Grealish.
The mercurial star got the call from Southgate after Marcus Rashford and Harry Winks pulled out of the squad.
It is believed Rashford has an ankle problem and will play no part as a result. Winks' problems are unknown.
There was strong reaction when Grealish yet again failed to make the cut when Southgate announced his squad last week.
The Three Lions boss had previously acknowledged the Villa skipper's talents but said that he needed Premier League experience.
Grealish played an instrumental part in helping Villa successfully escape relegation in their first season back in the big time last term.
But yet again he missed out with Southgate further compounding the conspiracy theories by calling up Leeds' Kalvin Phillips who has still to kick a ball in the Premier League.
Southgate explained his decision, saying: “The difficulty for Jack is Mason Greenwood, Jadon Sancho, Raheem Sterling, Marcus Rashford.
“Those four have either been with us for a long time and been exceptional, in terms of Marcus and Raheem.
“Jadon is just breaking through and I think everybody is aware of his potential, and Mason Greenwood’s goalscoring record and performances with Manchester United were outstanding.

“It is an area of the field where we have people like Callum Hudson-Odoi as well. I know at times Villa play Jack as a midfield player – that is not as I see him in the way we play.
“So, with us he would be a wide player or a 10 and, at the moment, I think we have got players who deserve to be in just ahead of him.”
