Manchester United should still be confident of landing top transfer target Jadon Sancho.
However, they may have to wait until next summer unless they cough up a mammoth £108m in the coming weeks.
Borussia Dortmund have been unmoved with their recent stance that Sancho will not leave this summer.
However, the player does want a move to United, according to Bild reporter Christian Falk.
The German reports Dortmund are happy to keep the 20-year-old as they seek to beat Bayern Munich to the Bundesliga title – and are in no rush to sell after tying the player to a one-year extension recently.
Falk told The Beautiful Game Podcast : "It's important for United fans to know that he still wants to go to Manchester United.
"It's just a question of money, if they pay €120million I think it's a crazy amount of money during this time.
"I know Ed Woodward gets plenty of pressure from the fans, perhaps he has to pay it.
"I think that many people didn't know that also Sancho signed a contract secretly which is one year more.
"For Dortmund there is no need to sell him now, they get the price next year also.
"They are happy because they want to be German champions, Bayern Munich have won it eight times in a row.
"They'll try everything to win the German championship with Sancho and it's easy with Sancho then without.
"If United buy him next year, it's okay for Dortmund. Time is running for Ed [Woodward]."
United remain the front-runners for Sancho.

And it appears no other clubs are set to challenge Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side for his signature.
"Dortmund knows there is quite a promise, if a club bring the price and pay the €120million he can leave," Falk added.
"He's already agreed to United so there are not any other clubs in for him.
"Of course it's always a risk to wait one year more because you know what is happening with Manchester City.
"I know also that Bayern Munich wanted to get Sancho when he was going to Dortmund, Sancho said no."
