Jadon Sancho has not travelled with Borussia Dortmund for their Super Cup clash with Bayern Munich.

The England international has been left at home, along with Roman Burki.

Dortmund this evening tweeted: "Jadon Sancho and Roman Bürki will not fly to Munich as a result of respiratory infections. Additionally, both players tested negatively for COVID-19 yesterday."

Manchester United fans have since went into overdrive, thinking the player is now Old Trafford-bound in the coming days.

Red Devils chiefs only have until October 5 to secure a mega-money deal for the 21-year-old, who has flourished since joining Dortmund back in 2017.

Daily Star Sport understands United are preparing an offer of £75m + £15m add-ons, telling Dortmund to take it or leave it.

But it appears the Bundesliga chiefs are unwilling to sell this summer.

Sancho has signed a new deal at Signal Iduna Park and is expected to remain there until at least next summer.

Many Dortmund chiefs have spoken out in recent weeks, insisting the player is not for sale.

And Marco Reus has echoed those claims earlier today.

"For us players that was great news. We all were happy that he will be with us for the season.

"Also because he delivers scorer points for the team. Goals, assists – in the end that translates to a lot of points.

"He is an essential player for us. If he will be as great of a player as (Cristiano) Ronaldo, time will tell.

"He needs a little bit of time, many experiences.

"There will surely be phases in his career where things will not go as smoothly as now, and we will see how he is going to deal with something like that. But I believe that he has the confidence and of course the quality to do that."
