Jarrod Bowen becomes the SEVENTH England star to withdraw from Gareth Southgate’s squad – as he picks up a training injury ahead of Monday’s clash with North Macedonia

West Ham forward Jarrod Bowen has withdrawn from the England squad ahead of the Monday night’s clash with North Macedonia, making him the seventh player to do so from Gareth Southgate’s original 26-man squad.
James Maddison, Lewis Dunk, Callum Wilson, Jude Bellingham, Levi Colwill, and Kieran Trippier are amongst the others to have withdrawn from the squad.
Bowen, 26, reported for international duty last week and was an unused substitute in the 2-0 win over Malta on Friday night.
Southgate confirmed Bowen’s withdrawal from the squad during a press conference on Sunday ahead of England’s trip to the Tose Proeski Arena.
‘Unfortunately Jarrod Bowen has picked up a bit of a knock in training which needs a little bit more assessment before we’re completely clear whether it would be the right thing to play or not.’ the England boss spoke.

‘I don’t think it’s going to be anything serious. But we just didn’t have enough time and we wouldn’t take a risk in that situation.’
To ease the disappointment for West Ham fans, Southgate added: ‘We felt better to leave him in England so that he can get it properly assessed.
England are now faced with a diminished squad as they head into their final qualifying match for Euro 2024, with Jude Bellingham and James Maddison amongst the absentees for the winter international break.
Despite Southgate’s side being in the top spot of Group C for the European qualifiers, they will look to secure a seventh win in order to head into the championships as a top seed group.
Bowen has been in impressive form at club level this season, scoring eight goals in 12 Premier League appearances for the Hammers.
West Ham host Burnley in the Premier League on Saturday.
