The famous ‘17-year-old’ Lazio footballer who was accused of lying about his real age has returned to Italy to join new club Luchesse.
Joseph Minala, now 25, made headlines for all the wrong reasons in 2014 when he was accused of actually being 42-years-old while trying to break into Lazio’s team.
An African football website made shocking claims that he was not actually 17 and it was not long before the entire footballing world was talking about the youngster.
But while his features were pointed out by fans to appear much older than a mere teenager, no concrete evidence was brought forward to corroborate the claims.
The Italian Football Association (FIGC) even investigated the case but found no evidence that the claims were true.
They published a statement which read: "The investigation did not show any need for disciplinary action."
But the once highly-rated midfielder’s career has since failed to take-off after being somewhat overshadowed by the incident.
Minala was loaned out to Serie B side Bari the following season where he scored three goals in 18 matches.

Minala made 15 appearances for the Chinese Super League club until his Lazio contract finally expired this year.
Now, having already experienced so much in his career, the Cameroonian has signed for Serie C side Luchesse where he will be aiming for better fortune in Italy.
