Chelsea are in talks to sign Kai Havertz from Bayer Leverkusen and Frank Lampard has fuelled rumours that a move could be close to completion after ‘liking’ a video of the attacker on Instagram. Havertz is believed to have already agreed personal terms with the Blues so all that’s left is for a transfer fee to be settled between the two clubs.
Havertz would be Chelsea’s third signing of the summer, with the west London club having already welcomed Hakim Ziyech and Timo Werner to Stamford Bridge.
The Blues struck a £33.4million deal with Ajax for Ziyech back in February while no time was wasted triggering Werner’s £53m release clause at RB Leipzig when the possibility of a transfer arose.

Lampard has consistently refused to talk about Havertz, stating it would be distracting to his squad.
Speaking ahead of the defeat to Liverpool last month, he said: “I don’t want to talk about Havertz, he’s a footballer from another team.
“I’m just thinking about the next game, which is very important for Chelsea’s future. The last thing I want to do is talk about players who aren’t ours.”
However, that hasn’t stopped the Chelsea boss from showing his appreciation for Havertz through social media.

Despite not wanting to talk about specific players, the Chelsea boss has admitted he will use the transfer market to strengthen this summer.
A replacement for Kepa Arrizabalaga is desired, with Atletico Madrid stopper Jan Oblak first choice.

However, the Slovenian could cost as much as £110m so Andre Onana, Nick Pope and Dean Henderson are all cheaper options.
Meanwhile, Ben Chilwell is a long-term target at left-back but his £80m price take could see Chelsea instead turn their attention to Nicolas Tagliafico, Sergio Reguilon or Alex Telles.
Elsewhere, Declan Rice is viewed as a solution to Chelsea’s centre-back problems with Lampard keen to convert the midfielder back to a permanent defender.
Emerson Palmieri, Marcos Alonso, Timeoue Bakayoko and Michy Batshuayi have all been linked with moves away from Stamford Bridge while vice-captain Jorginho could also depart.
