Klopp is ‘seriously pressing Mbappe’s entourage’ at just the right time

Kylian Mbappe could yet team up with Jurgen Klopp at Liverpool with the manager chasing his dream signing.

France international superstar Mbappe is arguably football’s hottest property right now.

The 22-year-old is already one of the world’s best players and could be available at a much lower price than previously thought.

PSG have been unable to tie the forward down on a new contract as yet, with his current deal expiring next summer.

With 18 months left for Mbappe at the Parc des Princes, PSG face a huge call on whether to cash in this year or face the daunting prospect of losing him for nothing in 2022.

Liverpool and Real Madrid are the top contenders to land the Ligue 1 goalscorer.

And according to Canal+ in France, Klopp himself is ‘seriously pressing Mbappe’s entourage’ over a move to Anfield.

The German boss is desperate to ensure Mbappe chooses Liverpool over Real if he does indeed quit Mauricio Pochettino's PSG.

Liverpool have shown of late their dynamic frontline of Sadio Mane, Roberto Firmino and Mohamed Salah is in need of freshening up after a demanding few years together.

Given they have suffered their most worrying dip in form for a few seasons, it seems the right time for the Reds to go all out for Mbappe.

Liverpool have hardly spent much in the wake of the Covid-19 pandemic, even amid their desperation for a centre-half due to their defensive injury crisis.

With Mbappe’s contract running down, his value will have also dropped too, although is still expected to cost a club-record fee for Liverpool.

Real’s situation in Spain is also a bonus for the Reds, with Zinedine Zidane’s side in major financial turmoil.

Barcelona’s debts were revealed this week to be worth over £1billion, and Real’s position is not much better either, hence the possibility they could lose Sergio Ramos for nothing this summer as contract talks stall.

Liverpool will hardly get a better opportunity to land Mbappe than this summer.
