Laura Woods appears to have a “Spursy” sixth sense, as she claimed to immediately realise a talkSPORT caller was a Tottenham Hotspur fan just by his voice.
The two-time sports presenter of the year award has demonstrated her particular talent of verbally dismantling callers and pundits like former Aston Villa ace Gabby Agbonlahor, particularly when her beloved Arsenal have been mentioned. Woods’ razor sharp wit and encyclopaedic knowledge has made her one of the most beloved sports presenters on television and radio.
She previously brought Agbonlahor down a peg or two when he dared to rip into Arsenal’s post-match celebrations at Villa Park, when Mikel Arteta’s side secured a crucial 1-0 away victory over Villa. However, her evisceration of a Tottenham fan who dared to accuse the Gunners of having a small club mentality while Woods was on the airwaves was particularly unique.

“That one, I was like, ‘oh it’s tiring’ because you’re up so early,” Woods said to the Fozcast. “But when he came on, he had such a tone I was like ‘this is so Spursy’.
“Normally it’s quite easy to stay calm and I’m not in the business of embarrassing people, but that one “p***ed me off. When they try and embarrass you, you’re like ‘excuse me’.
“His points as well he was like ‘you have a small club mentality, we had Maurizio Pochettino and Jose Mourinho’. And I was like ‘you sacked both of them’.

"‘You sacked Jose [Mourinho] before a Cup final, the only piece of silverware you could have won for years and years’.” However, Woods will be hoping and praying she does not have to eat her words.
Tottenham have enjoyed a very spectacular transfer window under Antonio Conte, signing Richarlison, Yves Bissouma, Ivan Perisic, Clement Lenglet, and Djed Spence. Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal side have hardly rested on their laurels, snapping up Gabriel Jesus and Fabio Vieira.
They also appear to be on the cusp of completing a £32m move for versatile Manchester City ace Oleksandr Zinchenko. Woods will be hoping these signings will be enough to ensure a certain “Spursy” caller does not get back in touch with her.
