Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has spoken about Erling Haaland’s future at Borussia Dortmund with the Reds linked with a possible move for the Norwegian superstar. It was expected that Dortmund would have a fight on their hands to keep hold of Haaland this summer after yet another impressive campaign in Germany.
But Jadon Sancho’s departure for Manchester United meant that Dortmund weren’t willing to part with another superstar this summer.
He’s now expected to stay at Signal Iduna Park for at least one more season, but next summer could be very different.
Numerous reports state Haaland has a release clause set at £68million which can be activated in 2022.
That could prove to be a bargain for arguably the world’s best striker with Haaland already bagging five goals in just four games so far this campaign.

Europe’s best clubs are expected to be knocking on the door for Haaland’s signature with Mino Raiola already making contact with several clubs.
Liverpool may be in the market for a striker next summer with question marks over the long-term futures of Mohamed Salah, Sadio Mane and Roberto Firmino.
Reports have suggested that Liverpool can’t viably offer all three players new contracts, with just a few years left on their current deals.
Salah appears to be the player Liverpool are most desperate to tie down to new terms with plans to make him the club’s highest paid player in their history.
Firmino though has seen his place as Liverpool’s main central striker drop this season with Diogo Jota the preferred option.
That could open the door for Haaland to step in next summer if Liverpool are prepared to meet his demands.
Klopp fully expects there to be a “conversation” on Haaland’s future in the very near future, but he stopped short of confirming whether the Reds will make a move for the striker.
“Of course there is a danger with such an extraordinary talent. The boy is a force of nature,” Klopp told Bild.
“During a goal celebration he hit the ball on the ground… I wasn’t sure if there was a dent in the ground after!
“Sooner or later he’ll be in the conversation of big clubs. I don’t know if that will already be the case next year, but then Dortmund will have to stand up to him.”
When asked if Liverpool would be interested in Haaland, Klopp replied: “He’s just a very interesting player.
“I really like the energy he brings to the pitch. But he would generally be watched by most of the teams.”
