Liverpool aren’t working on making any new signings before the transfer deadline passes, and are instead focusing on extending Georginio Wijnaldum’s contract. That’s according to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, who claims the Reds won’t be pushing to sign Ismaila Sarr.
Liverpool have had a solid transfer window so far, spending nearly £80million on new players.
They’ve brought in Thiago Alcantara, Diogo Jota and Kostas Tsimikas, with Reds transfer chief Michael Edwards receiving praise for his negotiating.
Most of the transfer fees they’ve agreed to pay will be spread out over the coming years instead of being paid in lump sums, with Thiago and Jota costing less than £10m combined this summer.
Despite bringing in Jota to provide a backup for their front three of Mohamed Salah, Sadio Mane and Roberto Firmino, they have also been tipped to make a late move for Sarr.

The Watford winger is expected to leave before Monday’s deadline after impressing during the Hornets’ Premier League campaign last year, despite their relegation.
But Romano claims he won’t be heading to Anfield, as Liverpool are pretty much done for the summer in terms of transfer activity.
Speaking to OddsChecker, the transfer expert claimed the Premier League champions are focused instead on extending Wijnaldum’s contract amid interest from Barcelona.
Wijnaldum only has a year to run on his current deal, and has been linked with a move away from Anfield.
