Even the stoniest football neutrals got excited by Alisson Becker’s last-gasp winner against West Brom on Sunday.

However, there was one man in red who didn’t seem overjoyed about the Liverpool keeper's goal, and eagled-eyed fans spotted it.

After the video circled on social media, Liverpool fans were outraged by the response of Georginio Wijnaldum to the last-minute winner.

Now, the Kop faithful reacted to the news of their captain’s recall to the first-team against Burnley, having started from the bench against West Brom, with local boy Curtis Jones making way.

One wrote: “If Gini Wijnaldum is captain tonight I’m actually losing it. Showed less than zero passion after Alisson’s winner against West Brom.”

Another tweeted: “Why Wijnaldum?? He don't f * care about Liverpool!”

Roberto Firmino captained the side in the Dutchman’s absence at the weekend, but Wijnaldum was given the armband again tonight.

A third responded by writing: “wijnaldum must have klopp nudes.”

Another fan said: “Gini disasterpiece upcoming.”

One disgruntled Reds fan tweeted: “Widjnaldum again – This Guy's finished.”

While another begged for the midfielder to leave the club: “WIJNALDUM OUT!!!!! ENOUGH IS ENOIGH.”

On Sunday, Liverpool came from behind to beat the Baggies 2-1 thanks to Alisson, which kept the Reds’ Champions League hopes in their own hands.

Alisson ran up for the final corner of the match, burying a header past Sam Johnstone to ensure the Anfield club stayed in pole position for a top four finish.

While Wijnaldum was in the box for the set piece with Alisson, corner taker Trent Alexander-Arnold was quicker to celebrate with his keeper.

The midfielder looks set to leave Anfield this summer, with Barcelona hunting his signature, and it appears Liverpool fans will be glad to see the back of him.
