Liverpool fans happy as "yellow abomination" makes way for new kit vs Man Utd

The only thing more contrasting than Liverpool’s second and third kits are the supporter’s different opinions on the kits themselves.

Liverpool’s bright yellow and red away kit was a nod to the club’s vast and glorious history which has seen them win six European Cups and Champions Leagues, nineteen league titles, and seven FA Cups.

However, despite the significance and symbolism of the yellow away strip they donned in the 3-2 away victory against Atletico Madrid, many Liverpool fans are not too keen on the kit.

While supporters of Jurgen Klopp’s side have been dazzled by their football in all competitions this season, their reactions to the away kit have not been as assured.

But they have been rejuvenated by the fact they will finally debut their butterscotch and dark green third kit against Manchester United on the weekend.

Supporters of the Anfield side fell in love with the third strip when it was first released at the beginning of the season, but Klopp’s side are yet to wear the kit this season.

And judging by the many responses to the announcement, Liverpool fanatics have been waiting very patiently to see the kit.

“GET IN! Hopefully we can defend in this kit unlike the McDonald's one” said one supporter.

“This is the jersey we should be rocking not that yellow abomination” another fan added.

Liverpool will debut the jersey against Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s unpredictable Manchester United side.

The Red Devils snatched victory from the jaws of humiliation in the Champions League, coming back from two goals down to beat Serie A side Atalanta 3-2.

Solskjaer has been under significant pressure in recent seasons, but the victory against the Italians saw the Reds go to the top of their group.

Liverpool on the other hand are sitting pretty after three wins out of three in the Champions League against AC Milan, Porto, and Atletico Madrid.

And they will be looking inflict a third Premier League defeat in four games on their old rivals.
