Liverpool fans say Cody Gakpo has ‘arrived’ after second goal in as many games
Liverpool fans have claimed Cody Gakpo has arrived after he netted his second goal in as many games on Saturday evening.
Darwin Nunez had notched the Reds ahead against Newcastle at St James Park, before Gakpo turned the ball past Nick Pope. Gakpo had been forced to wait for his first Premier League goal – which came last week against Everton.
Gakpo wowed Reds fans with his performances at the World Cup, causing Liverpool to sign the Dutch winger. However, he has since struggled on Merseyside, but Reds fans are convinced Gakpo will now kick on from his two goals.

One fan tweeted: "And just like that Gakpo has arrived. This is more like the Liverpool we know and love!"
"Darwizzy Gakpo and Salah all on fire just before facing Real Madrid at Anfield," a second added. While a third tweeted: "Nunez and Gakpo are really getting back in form just before the Real Madrid game!"

And a fourth tweeted: "Took him a bit longer than Diaz to settle in for Liverpool, not many would settle in so quickly, but Cody Gakpo really starting to look the part for the Reds now!"
The Reds' task was made that much easier when Nick Pope handled the ball outside of the area – giving Anthony Taylor no choice but to send the shot-stopper off.
With a man advantage, Liverpool took their foot off the gas and cruised to the three points.
