Liverpool can take on major positive from the current international break. That is despite Jurgen Klopp seeing more players added to his injury list in a growing crisis for the Reds.
While the international break might have Klopp clawing his hair out, there is at least one reason to be happy.
The Reds have had a rough history with players returning from their national duties carrying injuries.
This break has been no different with Jordan Henderson, Andy Robertson and Divock Origi coming back with problems.
Sadio Mane also remains a doubt but has trained this week after suffering a knock – but his fitness will now have to be monitored ahead of the weekend.
The most damaging absentee could well be Robertson – who is so key to the way that Liverpool attack.
Kostas Tsimikas has proved a fine deputy when called upon but Klopp might have another solution when pondering potential replacements.
Neco Williams could be the answer after a brilliant time away with Wales.
On Saturday, the defender – better known as a right-back – had a fantastic performance at left-back against Belarus in a 5-1 victory.
The 20-year-old even got on the scoresheet in the first-half as Rob Page’s men claimed a famous win.
Just days later the Liverpool ace was back in the same role – this time against much sterner opposition.
Wales hosted Belgium – the No. 1 ranked team in the world according to FIFA – and managed to draw 1-1.
It was enough to see them finish second in their group ahead of Czech Republic and go into the play-offs to potentially qualify for the World Cup next year.
A quick look across social media shows Wales fans teeming with praise for Williams, who is a certified starter for his country now.
His versatility could prove pivotal to Klopp, who loves having players who can operate in different positions.
And with Robertson out injured, the youngster could become have proved his worth at the best time.
