Liverpool ‘line up new deals for SIX stars – including Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane – after Trent Alexander-Arnold pens fresh terms… but Roberto Firmino is NOT set for an extension’ despite his contract expiring in 2023
- Trent Alexander-Arnold signed a new deal at Liverpool until 2025 on Friday
- The club hope to sign six of the right back’s team-mates to fresh terms too
- Mohamed Salah, Sadio Mane and Virgil van Dijk are all included on the list
- But the Reds are not willing to hand a new contract to Brazilian Roberto Firmino
Liverpool are reportedly looking to tie down another six stars to new deals after Trent Alexander-Arnold signed an extension to his contract.
The 22-year-old right back put pen to paper on fresh terms taking him through to 2025, with reports suggesting the England international will now be among the highest-paid players at Anfield.
But according to The Athletic, sporting director Michael Edwards’ work has only just begun with the club hopeful of extending the deals of a host of other established members of Jurgen Klopp’s squad.

Prime among the six players are forwards Mohamed Salah (left) and Sadio Mane (right)
Forwards Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane are prime among the players Liverpool hope to tie down to fresh deals, but their attacking partner Roberto Firmino is not in line to have his contract extended.
The trio scored 42 Premier League goals between them for Liverpool last season, but the report claims it is unrealistic that the Brazil international will be rewarded in similar vein to his African team-mates, despite his contract running out in 2023.
Goalkeeper Alisson, star centre back Virgil van Dijk and left back Andy Robertson are among the defensive options the club would like to see commit their future to the club once more.
Brazil star Fabinho completes the list of six, but reports suggest discussions with his midfield team-mate Jordan Henderson have stalled following initial talks earlier in the summer.

Liverpool also want to see Andy Robertson (left) and Virgil van Dijk (right) sign fresh terms
Van Dijk and Salah’s deals – like Firmino’s – are also set to expire in less than two years’ time.
The same goes for Henderson, Mane and Fabinho, who will also see their contracts run out in 2023.
Alisson meanwhile has a further 12 months, while Robertson currently has the longest deal of all, with the Reds reportedly having an option to keep Robertson on their books until 2025 following the new deal he signed two years ago.
But Liverpool will hope all those stars see the club’s future as brightly as Alexander-Arnold currently does following his extension.

‘I’m honoured to be given the opportunity and to be shown the trust in the club to be given an extension, so it was a no-brainer for me,’ Alexander-Arnold told the club’s official website after signing his new four-year extension.
‘The state the club is in and where I’m at in my career is always a good option for me. To extend and make sure I’m here longer is always a good thing. I’m made up.
‘It’s the only club I’ve ever really known, so to be here for this amount of time and extending to be here for a longer amount of time is amazing for me and my family.
‘It’s a proud moment for me – it always is – signing a new contract here. To be given the trust, like I said before, by the club and the staff is an amazing feeling.’
But Liverpool hope sporting director Michael Edwards (left) will be busy over next few months
