Liverpool's title hopes took something of a sideways step as they were held to a 1-1 draw by West Brom on Sunday evening.
The Reds took the lead thanks to a fine volleyed finish from Sadio Mane after being set up by Joel Matip.
A midfield battle ensued as both sides failed to make any real clear cut chances, though Liverpool dominated the game.
Their lack of killer edge cost ultimately them though as Semi Ajayi leapt above Fabinho to nod home an equaliser 10 minutes from time.
Jurgen Klopp's side continued to pour forward as the clock ticked down, and it took a wonder save to deny Roberto Firmino's header as West Brom claimed a valuable point.
So here are the Liverpool player ratings for their 1-1 draw against West Brom.
Alisson – 6
Had very little to do in the end, looked his usual confident self when called upon, but will be disappointed not to have kept a clean sheet.
Trent Alexander-Arnold – 7
Looked very threatening down the right and from set pieces,
Joel Matip – 7
Did well to set up Sadio Mane and looked composed at the back, but will feel aggrieved to have been forced off through injury again.
Fabinho – 5
Got dominated in the air by Ajayi for West Brom’s equaliser. Not his best showing at centre-back.
Andy Robertson – 6
Was full of energy down the left as usual, getting involved plenty, but couldn’t find that pinpoint cross he often does to break the deadlock when needed.
Jordan Henderson – 7
A very Jordan Henderson performance. Composed, solid, got the job done.
Georgino Wijnaldum – 7
The Dutchman showed his class once again in attack and defence to ensure his side came out on top.
Curtis Jones – 7
Arguably one of his best performances in the Premier League. Jones could well be a regular starter for many years to come.
Mohamed Salah – 6
Looked dangerous at times but didn’t seem to get the chances he usually creates for himself.
Sadio Mane – 8
Scored a brilliant goal and was always Liverpool’s main threat, but may be disappointed not to have put the game to bed earlier.
Roberto Firmino – 6
Very quiet until right at the end when he was unlucky not to put Liverpool ahead with a header.
Rhys Williams – 6
Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain – N/A
- Mohamed Salah
- Sadio Mane
- Premier League
