Liverpool star Ryan Gravenberch gives brutally honest answer Klopp will love
Ryan Gravenberch is clearly loving his football at Liverpool at the moment and it’s all down to Jurgen Klopp simply fulfilling his promise which is unlike what he experienced at Bayern Munich. It was a little over a year ago that Bayern won the race to sign Gravenberch, who had burst onto the scene with Ajax.
The highly-rated midfielder was hopeful of taking the next step of his career with the Bundesliga giants. But Julian Nageslmann and Thomas Tuchel were seemingly unconvinced by Gravenberch, who struggled for minutes in Germany.
He started just six games in all competitions and was looking for a way out after just 12 months at the club. Liverpool were able to offer Gravenberch what he wanted with Klopp’s side undergoing a huge transformation in midfield.
The Dutchman has already started as many games for Liverpool through the first few months of the season as did for Bayern for the whole of last year and he’s also found the net twice in Europe. And Gravenberch has admitted that he’s enjoying his time at Anfield simply because Klopp has been able to deliver him regular football.
When asked on Viaplay what Klopp’s plan was for him when he arrived, Gravenberch said: “That it would be quite calm, but I would actually get my chances. That was really the most important thing I wanted.” But it was his reaction to a question about his time at Bayern compared to Liverpool that Klopp will undoubtedly like the most.
Gravenberch was asked point blank whether Klopp ‘fulfils his promise better’ than the two managers he had at Bayern. The Holland international laughed before honestly answering: “Actually yes.”

Liverpool are now benefitting from Klopp giving Gravenberch the platform to showcase his true capabilities. Gravenberch often played in a deeper midfield role for Ajax, but was still a creative force for the Eredivisie outfit.
At just 19 years of age, Gravenberch was already running things for the Dutch side in midfield. Liverpool now have a 21-year-old still with room to grow to play alongside Dominik Szoboszlai and Alexis Mac Allister in a midfield three that has already shown huge promise.
Klopp will want even more from Gravenberch, but the early signs are promising and he’s already repaying Liverpool’s faith more than what Bayern saw last season.
