Leicester City midfielder Youri Tielemans has declared that he is yet to make a decision on whether to extend his current deal at the King Power Stadium. The Belgian maestro, who has been linked with a move to Liverpool in recent months, will be out of contract in the summer of 2023 as things stand.
However, talks are underway to see Tielemans commit his long-term future to Leicester.
He has emerged as one of the club’s most important assets since joining on a permanent basis from Monaco two years ago.
The 24-year-old made 51 appearances in all competitions last season and scored the decisive goal that saw Leicester lift the FA Cup in the final back in May.
His strong form with the Foxes earned links to a number of the Premier League’s biggest clubs, including Manchester United and Liverpool.
The Reds were heavily tipped to launch a move for Tielemans during the summer window to replace Georginio Wijnaldum, who joined Paris Saint-Germain on a free transfer at the end of last season.

However, Liverpool only managed to sign Ibrahima Konate from RB Leipzig before last month’s all-important deadline.
It has been suggested that Jurgen Klopp could revisit the possibility of landing Tielemans when next summer rolls around, with the player admitting that he is stalling over a new contract at Leicester in an interview with Sky Sports.
“There’s no update really, I’m open to everything,” said Tielemans when quizzed on his immediate future.
“The transfer market has just closed, but I want to keep as many options as I can open.
“As long as I’m here I will give everything for the club. I’ve already done so, but I will do so even more.
“The contract situation is just something that is going on in football, it’s a normal situation. There are talks going on.
“I’m not saying I’m going to sign, I’m not saying I’m not going to sign. We will see.”
Leicester boss Brendan Rodgers recently admitted that he is confident that Tielemans will eventually sign on with the Foxes, declaring that he would love to maintain their successful working relationship for as long as possible.

“I hope we can have him for longer,” Rodgers told reporters last month.
“Jon [Rudkin, Leicester’s director of football] is meeting with his representatives. He is a top-class professional, a great guy and someone I love working with.
“He is very focused on his football and doesn’t get sidetracked at all. As I have said before, I will give him everything to help him continuously improve and he will continue to give us everything too.
“For me and Youri, it just continues, our relationship. Hopefully we can resolve something in the future.”
