The clouds have lifted somewhat over Liverpool after two wins in a matter of days helped to steady the ship. Firstly, the Reds secured safe passage into the Champions League quarter finals with a win over RB Leipzig, before they earned a valuable Premier League win over Wolves.

It means that Jurgen Klopp’s side are still fighting on two fronts in the final two months of the season.

Eyes turn to Real Madrid in Europe, while only five points separate them and a place in the top-four.

With an international break now giving Liverpool’s injured players another two weeks to recover, the picture is looking decidedly more rosy.

Here is some of the latest Liverpool news, including an exit for a modern-day legend, a potential summer bargain and how Man City’s reported move for Danny Ings could impact the Reds.

Liverpool can land fresh transfer bargain this summer

Since Michael Edwards took up the role as sporting director back in 2016, transfer business on Merseyside has been the envy of most of Europe.

The likes of Mohamed Salah, Sadio Mane and Andy Robertson were all signed at values that now appear a pinch based on their current standings within the game.

And he could be afforded the opportunity of completing another bargain, with Ozan Kabak’s future yet to be decided.

The Schalke defender has become a regular in recent weeks, building an impressive relationship with Nat Phillips.

It is understood Liverpool could seal a permanent deal for the German for just £18m, with his correct value according to CIES standing at closer to £25m-£35m.

Origi linked with exit

One player that could be going the other way is Champions League hero Divock Origi.

The Belgian scored the decisive goal in the final with Spurs back in 2019, but has continued to fall down the pecking order since.

Calciomercato report that Klopp has lost faith in the striker and could look to cash in this summer.

It is claimed that Borussia Dortmund are readying an offer for Origi, while Antonio Conte could look to bring him to Serie A leaders Inter Milan.

Liverpool could benefit from Man City’s Ings plan

Reports have claimed that Manchester City could look towards Southampton striker Danny Ings as a potential replacement for Sergio Aguero.

The Argentinian is out of contract this summer and City are already making plans for his departure.

City have also been linked with Borussia Dortmund superstar Erling Haaland, but his hefty transfer fee could deter them.

Should they turn to Ings, it could boost Klopp’s funds, with the ECHO reporting Liverpool included a 20% sell-on-fee when he joined the Saints back in 2019.
