Manchester City starlet Luke Mbete is closing in on a loan to Dutch side Den Bosch… with highly rated England U21 defender eager to get full season under his belt to speed up development

Manchester City defender Luke Mbete is closing on a move to Dutch side Den Bosch.
The highly rated 19-year old had a spell at Bolton Wanderers last season but is looking to get a more competitive full season under his belt in Holland’s second tier.
Den Bosch face Den Haag this evening so Mbete faces a race against time to be registered in time to play but if he misses out will be in the squad to face Jong PSV next Friday.
Mbete was part of the City squad that won the FA Youth Cup in 2020 and has gone on to make his first team debut.
The centre-back made three appearances for Pep Guardiola’s side in the 2021-22 season.

He was loaned to Huddersfield for the 2022-23 season then joined Bolton for the second half of the season.
He scored his first goal in senior football in February during a 5-0 win over Milton Keynes.
City have still to decide on the next step for some of their youngsters but want England U21 international Mbete to get a full season under his belt to aid his development.
Mbete’s fellow City academy graduate Cole Palmer could also be set to depart the Etihad Stadium in search of regular first-team football.
