Man United fans FUME as Chelsea reach verbal agreement with Joao Felix
‘I’m tired of this life!’: Man United fans FUME as Chelsea reach verbal agreement with Joao Felix, as they lament ‘another star rejecting’ Old Trafford following fellow target Cody Gakpo’s move to Liverpool
- Manchester United target Joao Felix is closing in on a January move to Chelsea
- It comes after Cody Gakpo joined Liverpool after being linked with Old Trafford
- Fans slammed the club for being beaten to yet another star forward by a rival
- They said the Red Devils had ‘the most frustrating transfer windows’ of all clubs
Man United fans have been sharing their anger after yet another target has slipped through their fingers and joined a rival club.
Joao Felix had been heavily linked with a big-money move to Old Trafford this January, but the 23-year-old now looks to be headed for Chelsea after a verbal agreement was reached with Atletico Madrid.
It comes just days after Cody Gakpo joined Liverpool after months of links with United, as Erik ten Hag continues to struggle in his search for a Cristiano Ronaldo replacement.

If the move goes through, it will be another failure for Erik ten Hag in the transfer market
Fans were quick to vent their anger at the Red Devils’ latest transfer miss, as one tweeted: ‘Let’s all agree, Manchester United transfer windows are the most frustrating of all clubs!
‘We can never pull through with a signing as long as there’s any other club interested in him, we can never get the manager’s first choices! I’m tired of this life.
Others added that ‘enough was enough’ and lamented ‘another star rejecting United’.

While many fans lamented their club’s failure to sign Felix, some felt they did not need him
Felix is among the highest rated young players in Europe and has had some excellent moments in his time at Madrid, but some United fans did seem relieved he would not be joining their club.
‘He could have had United or Arsenal (although United probably wouldn’t have gone through with it) and he chooses a team in turmoil? Smells like mercenary to me,’ commented one supporter.
There were also those who felt ten Hag’s side ‘didn’t need’ the Portuguese star, arguing they had been spared a ‘huge loan fee’ for a player who still needed ‘development’.
Despite their off-pitch failings, United have been in stunning form on it and sit fourth
Chelsea are expected to pay just under £10 million to loan Felix, a figure labelled ‘daft’ by one supporter.
Despite their transfer woes, United are currently fourth in the Premier League after winning each of their last four games.
They will face a tough test in their next league outing, as they face champions Manchester City on Saturday.
