Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has reportedly abandoned plans to search for a new left-back in the upcoming transfer window as he will now put his faith in teenage sensation Brandon Williams.
The Norwegian boss is looking to overhaul the Manchester United squad in the summer transfer window – but this will not include a new left-sided defender, according to The Sun .
A source at Old Trafford told the publication: "The manager has told Brandon to keep doing what he is doing and to keep his feet on the ground.
"At the same time, Ole has stopped looking for a new left-back. Brandon has done enough."
The source continued: "There was an idea he could go out like Dean Henderson has, to another Premier League club or a team in the Championship.
"Ole loves Brandon's attitude and he will be here next season. The bosses think he will save them £50m."
Williams has enjoyed a breakout season for the Red Devils this campaign, featuring 27 times so far and even getting on the scoresheet on one occasion.
The 19-year-old's performances have even pushed Luke Shaw out of the first-team line-up on multiple occasions.
Over the past few weeks, the Manchester-born player has held talks with Solskjaer over this future at the club.
