Man Utd fans brand De Gea superhero after one of best goalkeeping displays

Manchester United fans are convinced David De Gea is superhuman after the Spaniard's late heroics helped seal three points against West Ham.

Marcus Rashford's first half header was technically the difference-maker, but a string of remarkable reflex saves from the United No 1 late in the game effectively decided the outcome.

A stunning one-handed stop to deny Kurt Zouma's arrowed header and a dramatic swatting of Declan Rice's top corner-bound screamer in the fourth minute of added on time were the highlights, leaving United fans on social media completely awestruck.

"The best shot stopper in the world," tweeted one fan, while another claimed: "This man can save anything, even the entire world from a nuclear war."

"He was like a super hero out there today," commented another, while a fourth agreed, writing: "100% Whoever said this guy was finished?"

It comes just a few days after news broke that De Gea wasn't going to be included in Spain manager Luis Enrique's squad for the upcoming World Cup.

To add insult to injury, three other Premier League keepers – Chelsea's Kepa Arrizabalaga, Brighton's Robert Sanchez and Brentford's David Raya – have reportedly made the cut.

"Luis Enrique you madman," one United fan tweeted, "how can you not think Dave isn't the best Spanish keeper around?" Another wrote: "After that performance it feels criminal not to take De Gea to the World Cup."

De Gea certainly has his flaws, but if tonight proves anything it's that in terms of reflex saves, there aren't many goalkeepers in the world who can rival him.
