Man Utd fans name desired Ole Gunnar Solskajer replacement after Tottenham loss

Manchester United fans have named the manager they would like to replace Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

The Red Devils were humiliated by Tottenham in a 6-1 defeat at Old Trafford, masterminded my former manager Jose Mourinho.

It comes a day before the end of the summer transfer window, which has been a disappointing one for the United boss.

Missing out on Jadon Sancho, Gareth Bale and Sergio Reguilon, they signed midfielder Donny van de Beek while medicals for Edinson Cavani and Alex Telles are due.

But the problems in the window have sunk into performances on the pitch, with Solskjaer’s side winning one of their first three Premier League games while conceding 10 goals.

This has seen some fans lay into chief Ed Woodward for his lack of activity in the transfer market.

Others, though, have suggested that the manager’s time is now up and he should be replaced with a former Tottenham man.

“[Mauricio] Pochettino is still available and would do way better with this squad than Ole,” one supporter said.

The Argentine spent five years in north London, recording a 54.3 per-cent win rate from nearly 300 games before being sacked for Mourinho.

While unable to land silverware for Spurs, the 48-year-old did get them to the Champions League final while never finishing outside the top five.

Another fan commented: “How long until we bring in Poch?”

While a third suggested a move would come in quickly, with: “Poch will be there tomorrow.”

And a fourth added: “Pick up the phone and give Poch a call.”

A fifth even claimed the former Tottenham man was already on the way, with: “Ole won’t survive this.

“Posh probably packing for England as we speak.”

With a final supporter simply saying: “I’m sick of defending Ole, get Poch in.”

It comes as Pochettino’s former player Danny Rose predicted that the Argentine would be in line for Solskjaer’s seat at Old Trafford if he were to get the sack.
