Manchester United fans all said the same thing after Luke Shaw’s calamities against Tottenham as Alex Telles’ move edges closer.

The Englishman was left helpless as the Red Devils went into half time 4-1 down against former boss Jose Mourinho’s side.

Bruno Fernandes slotted a penalty after just a minute of play – but it was cancelled out when Tanguy Ndombele capitalised on a confusion in United’s defence.

Harry Maguire headed the ball backwards, not spotting Erik Lamela next to him, which forced Shaw into action.

As the full-back tried to clear the ball away, he was pulled to the ground as Tottenham’s midfielder was left with a clean shot at goal.

And the north London side were ahead on 10 minutes when Son Heung-Min ran onto a quick free-kick from Harry Kane, Shaw leaving a space in the middle for the No.7 to score.

While the 25-year-old was suffering on the pitch, the United defender is set to be put under even more pressure off it.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side have reportedly agreed am £18m deal for Porto full-back Telles after weeks of talks with the Portuguese side.

The Brazilian full-back, who has made nearly 200 appearances for the Primeira Liga side, is expected to have a medical at Old Trafford soon.

And the United faithful have expressed their delight at the arrival of the new full-back after their current left-back’s disaster.

“At least Shaw’s having fun before he’s benched for Alex Telles,” one supporter said.

Another commented: “Telles should walk into this team. Shaw is out of position every time.”

While a third held nothing back, with: “Thank f*** for Telles, because Shaw is so far behind every time.”

And a fourth added: “Shaw is a liability. Telles can’t come soon enough!”

A fifth even suggested getting Telles’ medical moved forward, with: “Substitute Shaw for Telles at HT please.”

With a sixth simply writing: “Telles in. Goodbye Shaw.”

Telles is not the only player set to arrive before Deadline Day, though, as Edison Cavani will be an “imminent” arrival on a two-year deal worth £200,000-a-week.
