Man Utd ‘give in’ to Jadon Sancho loan as Chelsea £25m Chalobah deal hits rocks

Seven Man Utd transfers Sir Jim Ratcliffe wants answers for as trio set for January exits

Preparations for the January transfer window are in full flow for every Premier League club, with each side identifying several targets that could boost their chances this season. Chelsea, Manchester United and Liverpool are all expected to splash the cash in the winter window, though big-money signings should not be ruled out elsewhere.

Mauricio Pochettino’s desire to continue his rebuild at Stamford Bridge was justified further on Saturday when the Blues were beaten 4-1 by Newcastle in a shocking display by his pricey squad. Chelsea are expected to bring in reinforcements at both ends of the pitch, with a No 9 and a central defender both set to be prioritised – but other signings definitely should not be ruled out.

Similarly, United are looking to bolster their frontline as well as acquire the services of a top-quality centre-back in January. Following Antoine Griezmann’s public rejection of a move to the Red Devils, it remains to be seen who Erik ten Hag turns to when looking for a striker to play alongside Rasmus Hojlund or if the Dutchman is willing to bide his time and wait until the summer to push for alternatives.

Arsenal are also in the market for a striker in January, with their narrow 1-0 win over Brentford underlining the lack of cutting-edge in Mikel Arteta’s squad. The Bees continue to insist that Ivan Toney is not for sale, but a significant bid could truly test their resolve and Arsenal are desperate to acquire his services.

Chelsea handed blow in hopes of offloading academy product

Chelsea’s hopes of offloading Trevoh Chalobah in January are reportedly diminishing.

According to The Mirror, Bayern Munich and Tottenham have both cooled their interest in the centre-back, with his injury struggles prompting both clubs to target alternatives.

Nottingham Forest struck an agreement with Chelsea for Chalobah worth £25million over the summer before the 24-year-old snubbed the move, and a bid in that region would have seen the Blues academy product given the chance to leave once again in January.

Inter Milan, AC Milan and RB Leipzig remain keen on the Englishman, though the trio could demand that the Blues lower their price tag before tabling an offer.

Juventus hold firm Jadon Sancho belief

Juventus are reportedly growing in confidence that Manchester United will allow Jadon Sancho to leave the club on loan.

The winger was banished by Erik ten Hag earlier this season and a permanent exit from Old Trafford was viewed by all parties as the ideal resolution.

However, according to Calcio Mercato, Juve believe that United ‘will give in’ and allow them to sign the England international on loan in January.

The Serie A side are aware that Borussia Dortmund lead the race for Sancho but are hopeful that the prospect of a new challenge will entice him to make the move to Italy.
