Man Utd identify Sancho transfer alternative as Solskjaer eyes new forward
Manchester United have reportedly identified Atletico Madrid's Joao Felix as a potential alternative to Jadon Sancho as they look to sign a new forward this summer.
Manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has urged the club to prioritise bringing in a goalscorer in the next transfer window, and Sancho is thought to be their number one target following his stunning form in the Bundesliga for Borussia Dortmund.
There have been reports recently that suggest Sancho and his representatives have agreed a basic salary, the length of his contract and what bonuses he will receive ahead of his potential move to Old Trafford, but the club have not yet contacted Dortmund over a transfer fee, with the German side said to value him at around £100m.
And according to French publication Le 10 Sport United are eyeing up Felix as their second choice in case a move for Sancho falls through at the last minute.
Felix was regarded as one of the hottest young prospects in Europe last season following the 20-year-old's impressive form for Benfica, in which he scored 15 goals in 26 Primeira Liga appearances.
It led to Atletico making him the third most expensive player in the world when they signed him for £113m last summer, but so far he has yet to live up to expectations at the Wanda Metropolitano, and he had scored just four goals in La Liga when the season was suspended after struggling to adjust.
