Man Utd ‘in talks’ over Trippier, £38m Juventus defender linked and Ronaldo blow

As the transfer window prepares to reopen, Manchester United are being linked plenty of serious talent from across Europe.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is in the market for at least two defenders and a new midfielder as the Red Devils look to build on last season’s runner-up finish in the Premier League and a Europa League final loss to Villarreal.

The likes of Raphael Varane, Jadon Sancho and Saul Niguez have all been mentioned as possible arrivals at Old Trafford.

It’s no secret that United are keen on signing Kieran Trippier.

The Red Devils have been linked with the Atletico Madrid right-back for some time as they look to bring in genuine competition for Aaron Wan-Bissaka.

A deal now appears closer than ever, with The Athletic reporting that United Director of football Matt Judge is in ‘dialogue’ over Trippier.

A report in Gazzetta dello Sport alleges the Red Devils are looking at a deal for Cristian Romero.

The Juventus star has shone on loan at Atalanta this season, making 42 appearances in all competitions.

They are expected to buy sign him permanently for €16million before potentially selling him onto United for a fee in the region of €45m

    Why is that relevant to United fans? Well, according to the Italian publication, if Mbappe moves to Spain, then there’s room in Paris for a new superstar.

    That superstar could be Ronaldo, with the Portuguese ace reportedly seeking a move away from Turin following a difficult season at the Allianz Stadium.
