Manchester United have made a breakthrough in their pursuit of Jadon Sancho, according to Sky Sports reporter Dharmesh Sheth. United are claimed to have overcome issues regarding agent fees and personal terms ahead of making a bid for England star Sancho.
Borussia Dortmund have been holding out for a fee of £108million for the 20-year-old.
Sheth says United are still “determined” not to overpay for Sancho in the current climate.
However, the progress made in the last 24 hours can now allow them to pursue Sancho further.
Sheth said on the Transfer Show: “I’ve been speaking to somebody close to a potential deal involving Jadon Sancho to Manchester United and in the past 24 hours there has been developments and potentially good news for Manchester United fans because the issues of agent fees and personal terms I’ve been told are no longer a problem.

“That is what was quoted to me. Manchester United are remaining tight-lipped on these developments but it’s clear that some good progress has been made on overcoming the problems of agent fees and wages.
“Now, we should also say here that United remain very resolute and determined in not overpaying for a player given the realities of COVID-19.

“But given that this was the issue for the past two or three weeks that Manchester United weren’t making a bid because they needed to sort out agents fees and personal terms for Jadon Sancho, this appears to be some sort of a breakthrough for Manchester United.”
Meanwhile, Bundesliga expert and former Norway striker Jan Aage Fjortoft claims United will only sign Sancho if they make an “unbelievable” offer for the forward.

“It’s one month now since [Michael] Zorc and Dortmund said there was a deadline and if we take him to the training camp on August 10, he’s going to stay,” Fjortoft told ESPN FC.
“I can’t see how Dortmund can lose their face here, they did that with [Ousmane] Dembele and [Pierre-Emerick] Aubameyang but those two players went to strike, I can’t see Sancho doing that.
“The German Bundesliga is getting closer and closer.
“I think that the only game changer could be an unbelievable bid done by Manchester United or it will be the normal big story that is it’s a problem with the agent.
“For the buying club that’s their biggest weapon, what they do when they try to save face at the end of a transfer, not only Manchester United but some other clubs as well.”
