Man Utd make Sancho bid, Saul offer lined up and interest in Romero increases

Manchester United’s summer will be huge, as they prepare to improve their squad and close the gap between themselves and league winners Manchester City.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side have long been in pursuit of Borussia Dortmund’s Jadon Sancho, but are also looking to bolster other positions such as central midfield, centre-half and right-back.

Having comfortably secured Champions League qualification, finishing above the likes of Liverpool and Chelsea, United are now plotting a title charge.

They will want to avoid a situation like last summer, where they only signed one player before the last day of the transfer window.

Daily Star Sport has taken a look at Manchester United’s latest transfer news below.

Sancho deal moves forward

There has been some movement in the Jadon Sancho to Manchester United saga.

German outlet Bild have reported that the Red Devils have submitted their first official offer for the winger in a fee in the region of £60m.

Dortmund, according to the report, are looking for a fee of around £77m.

According to Foot Mercato’s Dahbia Hattabi, however, that bid is set to be increased.

United have been interested in the player for well over a year and will want to secure the former City man as soon as possible.

Who should Manchester United sign this summer? Let us know in the comments below.

Saul offer in preparation

According to Turkish journalist Ekrem Konur, Manchester United are preparing to make an offer for Atletico Madrid’s Saul Niguez

The midfielder has reportedly been interested in a move, and United’s local rivals, Manchester City, are interested in the player as well, reportedly looking at a deal where Bernardo Silva goes the other way.

The Spaniard has a contract at Diego Simeone’s side until June 2026.

Romero interest increases

According to Argentine outlet Aire de Santa Fe, Manchester United want to sign Atalanta centre-half Cristian Romero.

Atalanta took the player on loan from Juventus last year and his impressive performances this season, which earned him a national team call-up as well as the honour of being named Serie A’s defender of the season, have caught the eye of the Old Trafford club.

The player is currently preparing for the Copa America with Argentina.
