Manchester United may face one issue that prevents the signing of Jadon Sancho this year, according to transfer expert Duncan Castles. Borussia Dortmund and England winger Sancho is high on United’s list of targets heading into the next transfer window. However, Dortmund are reportedly demanding a fee of over £100million for the player.
Speaking on the Transfer Window podcast, Castles says United have a clear path to sign Sancho over their Premier League rivals.
Castles’ colleague Ian McGarry claims United chiefs think they could sign Sancho for as little as £52m due to the current coronavirus pandemic.
However, Castles says if United take that stance, Dortmund may decide against selling Sancho and instead wait for prices to rise again before cashing in on the 20-year-old.
“Ole Gunnar Solskjaer really likes the player, therefore they were in the box seat when the price was high and when there were more suitors interested,” he said.

“There’s no reason why they shouldn’t be even better placed in the box seat now that other clubs will consider that €120m asking fee even more excessive in an environment in which transfer fees are set to plummet in value.
“Again, it looks like it’s Manchester United’s deal to do.
“I think the issue will be whether Dortmund make a calculation that they don’t want to sell – if Manchester United think it’s going to be €60m – they don’t want to sell at €60m, they’d rather retain the player for another season and hope to sell him at closer to his valuation once football’s transfer market has recovered.”
Meanwhile, former Liverpool captain Jamie Redknapp has revealed he is a big fan of Sancho.
