Manchester United have finally started to find their stride in the Premier League title race once again and transfer chief John Murtough
A pulsating last-gasp 2-1 win over West Ham on Sunday showed that United have all the credentials to go on and win their first title in nine seasons.
Paul Pogba didn’t have the best game of his career against the Hammers, but his quality has been instrumental throughout the season.
Registering seven Premier League assists in just five games, Pogba is a man reborn on the left of midfield.
But his superb form has alerted Europe’s elite, especially with just ten months left on his contract.
And reports suggest that United have found his replacement should he depart.
Calciomercato states that although talks to extend Pogba’s contract continue, United are considering a backup plan in the event of his departure next season.
Franck Kessie is one player they could look at given his contract also expires next summer.
However, the report goes on to state that Tanguy Ndombele is another one of the players that United are considering should Pogba leave Old Trafford.
It would make sense as an almost like-for-like swap, as on their day Pogba and Ndombele are two of the most creative midfielders in the Premier League.

However, Ndombele still has three years left on his contract, so a move in summer could still be costly as Spurs would look to recoup some of the £64million they paid for their record signing.
Ndombele has had an indifferent start to life in north London, showing flashes of inconsistency ever since Spurs beat United to his signature in 2019.
But with changing managers, Ndombele looks to be favoured by Nuno Espirito Santo in his favoured role.
The Portuguese manager issued that patience must be shown with Ndombele after fans were uncertain about his ability.

“It was the first game Tanguy was involved in since the beginning of the season,” Nuno said.
“We had all the pre-season and we are already playing Premier League and European competition.
“It was Tanguy’s first game so let’s be patient.”
